University of Sri Jayewardenepura and DAAD Discuss Expanding Academic and Research Partnerships

The University of Sri Jayewardenepura recently welcomed a delegation from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) comprising Mr. Arthur Rapp, Director of the DAAD Regional Office, Ms. Nishka Thukral, Executive Assistant to the Director, and Ms. Nimaya Manudewa, Regional Officer of the DAAD Information Centre, Colombo.

As part of their visit, the DAAD representatives also met with PhD students at the Faculty of Engineering, providing an opportunity for meaningful discussions on research pathways and academic opportunities in Germany. The engagement focused on the importance of identifying suitable fields of study, selecting appropriate host institutions, and developing research-driven academic partnerships.

During the discussions, the DAAD delegation highlighted the wide range of scholarships, funding schemes, and research opportunities available to students and academics seeking to pursue higher studies and research in Germany. The representatives also emphasized the value of international academic mobility and collaborative research in strengthening global knowledge exchange and innovation.

The visit marks another significant step in enhancing the University of Sri Jayewardenepura’s international engagement and fostering stronger academic links with leading institutions and organizations worldwide.
