CSR Initiative of the Centre for International Affairs Brings Books and Hope to Flood-Affected Children

The Centre for International Affairs successfully concluded a children’s book distribution drive on December 5th, 2025. This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), targeted flood-affected children currently residing in relief centers.Over 2,000 copies of the popular science series, The Magic School Bus, translated into Sinhalese by Dr. Ruwini Prasadini Dharmawardene, were distributed. The distribution was smoothly carried out by the staff of the Centre, Dr. Ruwini Dharmawardene, Ms. Dinithi Aluvihare, and Mr. Hasitha Bandara, taking a significant step in the efforts to support the psychosocial well-being and academic pursuits of the young victims of the floods. The Centre for International Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such meaningful projects that align with national development goals. This project directly contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education, ensuring that learning continues even when disaster strikes.
