Mr. Ali Kebriaei Zadeh, Cultural Counsellor of the Iran Cultural Centre, visited the University of Colombo on 16 September 2026. During the visit, he met with Vice-Chancellor Senior Professor Upul Subasinghe and Prof. Sandamali Galdolage, Director of the Centre for International Affairs. The meeting provided an opportunity to explore new avenues for collaboration between the University and Iranian institutions.
Both sides expressed their interest in developing mutually beneficial academic and cultural initiatives. The proposed areas of cooperation are expected to be further formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The visit marks a positive step towards strengthening long-term academic, research, and cultural ties between Iran and Sri Lanka.
