Cultural and Academic Exchange: Student Delegation from Meijo University, Japan

A group of foreign students from Meijo University, Japan, visited the University of Sri Jayewardenepura on 7th August 2025 as part of an educational and cultural tour aimed at fostering cross-cultural understanding, academic exchange, and international collaboration. The event was held at the Senate Boardroom of the University.

The session was graced by the presence of Senior Professor Pathmalal M. Manage, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Professor Dushan Jayawickrama, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Professor Aruna Shantha from the Department of Human Resource Management, Professor Sandamali Galdolage from the Department of Marketing and Dr. Ruwini Dharmawardene, Director of the International Affairs Division. The delegation consisted of 30 students and one staff member from the Faculty of Economics, Meijo University. In addition, 20 students from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura also joined the occasion, contributing to a vibrant and interactive atmosphere. Professor Yuri Sadoi from Meijo University delivered an insightful speech, introducing the university and its academic vision. The visiting students shared their innovative project ideas focused on the theme of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), contributing valuable perspectives on creating a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future. One foreign student delivered a speech sharing their experience at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura with the audience. The welcoming session concluded with a vote of thanks. Following the welcoming ceremony, the students embarked on a guided tour of the university, which included opportunities to experience and engage with the local culture.
