The MoU signing ceremony between the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Deakin University was held on 14th January 2026 in the Old Board Room of the University. The ceremony marked an important step in strengthening academic collaboration and research partnerships between the two institutions.
The event was graced by Vice-Chancellor, Senior Professor Pathmalal M. Manage; Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Prof. D.I. Ulluwaduge; Head of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, Dr. M.R.S. Jayathilake; Head of the Department of Optometry, Dr. H.M.D.R. Herath; Director of the Centre for International Affairs, Prof. Sandamali Galdolage; along with faculty members of the Allied Health Sciences.
On the international side, Deakin University was represented by Ms. Dionne Gregory, Country Director of Deakin International Sri Lanka, and Mr. Shenal Kekulthotuwa, Manager of Partnerships. The ceremony highlighted the mutual commitment of both universities to foster academic excellence, collaborative research, and student exchange opportunities.
