PGD/MSc in Industrial Mathematics
Course Description: Industrial Mathematics deals with developing mathematical models, finding solutions, and interpreting the results of problems that arise in the industry. The main objectives of this program are to provide graduates with adequate knowledge in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, and Scientific Computing, and to provide opportunities for research in applications of Mathematics to existing problems in industry. This program is essential to narrow the gap that exists between scientists in industry and mathematicians.

Entry Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics as a component preferably BSc(Special) Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or BSc (Physical Science) or BSc (Engineering)
- Proficiency in English is important as English will be the medium of instruction for the program. A written examination and/or an interview will be held to select the candidates for the program (same for both the Post Graduate Diploma and the Master’s Degree).

PGD/MSc in Industrial Analytical Chemistry
Course Description: The program comprises a broad range of modules covering all the major analytical techniques, complemented by studies in transferable and professional skills, with the option to study aspects of medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry if desired. Study areas include research methods, separation techniques, mass spectrometry and associated techniques, spectroscopy and structural analysis, sensors, pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism, drug targets, drug design and drug synthesis, and innovations in analytical science.

PGD/MSc in Polymer Science & Technology
Course Description: The inventions of new products and new applications have made polymer science and technology an important cross-cutting discipline in related fields. The lack of adequate personnel for the optimization of the use of polymer products for national development is a major issue to be addressed for the development of the country. Non-availability of an adequate number of professionals in polymer science had prevented the country from moving rapidly for effective use of the new technologies in polymer applications. The course is developed and offered to fill the long-felt need in this area.

Entry Requirements:
- B.Sc. Degree with Chemistry or B. Sc. Degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized higher education institution or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Special Enrollment for a limited number of candidates with an NDT Certificate and 5 years of working experience in an executive capacity in the rubber and plastics sector.
- A Bachelor’s degree including 30 credits in the subject area of polymer chemistry, polymer science, material science, chemistry or chemical engineering or as determined by the senate of the university OR
- A qualification of SLQF level 6 or above in the area of polymer chemistry, polymer science, material science, chemistry or chemical engineering or as determined by the senate of the university OR
- Completion of NVQ level 7 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 0-4, as determined by the senate of the university OR
- Completion of NVQ level 6 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 0-4 and 2 years of continuous working experience (or equivalent to a cumulative of 2 years) in the rubber or plastics sector as determined by the senate of the university may be considered for admission.
Note: Students will not be admitted to the Postgraduate Diploma in Polymer Science and Technology. The PGD will be offered as a fallback option.

Course Description: With this postgraduate qualification in Applied Statistics, students can advance their career in almost any field, including education, science, technology, healthcare, government, or business. Master of Science in Applied Statistics program is a University Grants Commission (UGC) approved program that has been designed to meet Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF 10) guidelines. It also consists of two exit points at Postgraduate Diploma level (SLQF 8) and Master of Applied Statistics level (SLQF 9) for those who wish to exit the program without completing the second year.

Drawing on the fields of machine learning, data mining, databases, and visualization, it provides critical support to decision-makers in many professions, allowing them to make decisions based on precise situation awareness. The Master of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program is a University Grants Commission (UGC) approved program that has been designed to meet Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF 10) guidelines. - MPhil: Two years

Entry Requirements:
- MPhil:
- A Bachelor’s Honors Degree of Level 6 with a minimum of 30 credits in the relevant field OR
- A Bachelor’s Honors Degree of Level 6 with a minimum of 30 credits in a related field and successful completion of a qualifying examination OR
- A Bachelor’s Degree of level 5 with a minimum GPA of 3 and successful completion of a qualifying examination which will be conducted after completion of 30 credits equivalent to SLQF 6 in the same or related field OR
- A qualification of SLQF levels 7 or above in the relevant field
- PhD:
- A Masters of Philosophy Degree OR
- A Master’s Degree OR
- A Bachelor’s Degree of Level 6 with a minimum GPA of 3 with or without a qualifying examination as determined by the University OR
- A holder of Bachelor’s Degree Honors of Level 6 who has registered to follow an MPhil Degree may be upgraded to PhD level after a minimum period of one year provided his/her research competencies are of exceptional merit OR
