Delegates from Grodno State Medical University, Russia visited the University of Sri Jayewardenepura on 15th May 2023. They were welcomed by Prof. Upul Subasinghe, the Acting Vice Chancellor of USJ, Mr. Anuruddha Weliwita, the Registrar of USJ, Dr. Ruwini Dharmawardene, Director of the International Affairs Division, and the academic representatives of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. The primary objective of the visit was to explore potential opportunities for Grodno medical students to receive medical training at USJ. Prof. Shalindra Ranasinghe, and Dr. Varuni Tennakoon in their capacity as representatives from the Medical Faculty, provided a comprehensive overview of the fee-levying basis elective programs available at USJ. The delegates from Grodno State Medical University expressed keen interest in the elective programs and were impressed by the offerings and facilities at USJ. The discussions focused on fostering collaboration between the two institutions and creating avenues for medical students from Grodno to gain valuable educational experiences at USJ. The visit served as an important platform for knowledge exchange and establishing a strong foundation for future partnerships between our universities. The warm reception and fruitful discussions further reinforced the mutual commitment to academic excellence and international cooperation.
